Attapulgite Viscosity Modifier Function

Attapulgite has high cohesiveness, excellent suspension and colloidal thixotropy  and strong adhesion, good suspension, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, fire resistance and corrosion resistance properties,which is inert and stable in the working medium and is not easy to collapse and deform after molding. High viscosity,Light weight, Good suspension, Inert and does not react with any chemical ingredient

The key feature is its rapid recovery. Mixtures quickly return to their original viscosity after mixing or after being applied. Attapulgite does not fade in that this shear-thinning effect can be repeated endlessly without loss of original viscosity.

Attapulgite Use Method:

Depending on the degree of stabilization required, the suggested use level for these ingredients is between 0.4% and 0.5%; they are not recommended above 2.5%. If the viscosity of the emulsion/solvent is insufficient, consistency agents should be added. Finally, to ensure stability regardless of what actives are used, the enterprises recommends associating the Attapulgite materials with 0.2% HPMC/CMC.
