Pressure swing adsorption has a short cycle time, low energy consumption for normal temperature operation, low investment, and easy automatic control.

Its main advantages are reflected in:
1. Low energy consumption, it only consumes a lot of work when air is compressed. Generally, PSA pressure is lower than 0.2-0.6MPa, VPSA is below 0.06MPa, VPSA is below 0.06MPa, and VPSA energy consumption is much lower than PSA. Adsorbent regeneration does not require heating and only requires little work from a small vacuum pump. The power consumption of VPSA oxygen production is less than 0.41KWh/m3, the power consumption of nitrogen production is 0.27-0.31KWh/m3, and the hydrogen production of coke oven gas is 0.5KWh/m3.
2. Good adaptability, the pressure swing adsorption device can be adjusted slightly to change the production capacity, change the impurity content of the raw gas, and the process conditions such as the inlet pressure.
3. The adsorbent has a long service life. Generally, it can be used for more than ten years and can be extended with a little new adsorbent, with less maintenance time and a high operating rate.
4. Can be automated.
5. The equipment can operate at room temperature outdoors, without insulation or heating and cooling. Except for the low-voltage booster meters, there is no consumption of steam, water, or electricity. Pressure swing adsorption is of great significance for reducing industrial investment and energy consumption.
